Dig(i)MAU - Revealing the collection together

digimau engFollowing several months’ work, the Museum of African Art’s (MAA) new website, exclusively dedicated to the digitised museum content from its audio and video archives, is available to the public.

In 2016, all prerequisites were met to set in motion the digitisation of the museum’s ample content, thanks to the financial aid from Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Culture and Information. The Dig(i)MAU project has become an excellent opportunity for the up until recently unavailable content to be processed by professionals, digitised and presented to the public on the dedicated website.

The content presented at the www.digimau.org is an invitation of sorts for the professional and scientific community as well as for all the fans of diverse content, linked to the phenomena from the area of African, Yugoslav and Serbia’s cultural heritage, to become immensely involved in research and discovery and deliberation on all the potentials that the MAA, as an institution, has.

In the year in which we are celebrating forty years of our existence and continuous work in the field of museum practice we wish to present for the first time part of this rich and valuable documentation and invite you to visit our new website and learn more about it.
