Lectures
Lectures at the Museum are organized around thematic exhibitions, anniversaries, as well as current issues within the field of African studies. Lectures are given by local and visiting professors, students, artists, travellers and travel-writers. The Museum supports initiatives that review and analyse current events on the African continent, but primarily the ways in which they affect creativity and art production. Taking into account the global dimension of the term “African culture” we support talk about the dynamics of modernity and modernism, the art of the African diaspora and migration, new trends in African music, and so on.
THE AFRICAN PLATFORM
Within the African Platform we invite all members of the African community in Belgrade to propose topics on which they can base their reflections of their own art and culture, as well as to propose programs and topics that they would like to see at the Museum of African Art.
