Ivana Vojt, "Mancala, Game of Thought" exhibition curator and catalogue author will walk you through the history of one of the oldest board games, share her experiences from her travels to Africa - Cape Verde and instruct you in how to observe exhibited objects.

After the guided tour, visitors are invited to stay and play the mancala game until 9 pm! The Museum of African Art in collaboration with the board game’s club “C22”, will organize the Mancala Rules! summer program, which involves learning the rules of mancala in the MAA garden. Participation is free and mancala boards will be provided by the Museum of African Art. However, if you do own a mancala, definitely bring it with you.
The "MANCALA, GAME OF THOUGHT” exhibition by Ivana Vojt has received the honorary Project of the Year Award given by The National Committee of ICOM (International Council of Museums) as the official international organization of museums and museum professionals founded within UNESCO.
