Night of Museums 2016

May is museum month!
The doors are open...

“Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.” (ICOM)

International Museum Day – 18 May – has been celebrated since 1977. Across the globe, during the whole month, through different programs and activities, the attention of the public is drawn to the importance of museums for the development of society, making May the month of museums. The well-established European Night takes place 21 May, so use the opportunity to spend part of the night at the MAA, and in other city cultural institutions, which will be open to visitors on this night.

European Night of Museums – Saturday, 21.5.2016, from 17:00 to 01:00

Open all night – from 17:00 to 01:00 – visitors can visit the permanent display permanent display “The Art of West Africa from the Pečar Collection” and thematic exhibition “Ibeji: Twice Born”.

Spеciаl prоgrаms:

From 17h to 19h: musical workshop “What does the Drum Say”– for children aged 4 to 12. Children will make different drums and rattles out of recyclable materials and decorate them with drawings and collages. Musical workshop guided by: Milena Miladinović & Nevena Trivić, music teachers, Marija Ličina, curator & Milica Josimov, sculptor.

From 17 to 22h: 15 Minutes of Fame! – take your photo for the cover of our museum magazine.

From 21h surprise concert: Horace Thompson (Tommy T) & Filip – Live n' Jamming
